Holding Hands While Walking

Photo from the internet.

By now, you already know that I am a hopeful romantic–alright I was hopeless romantic before but then I found my Prince Charming so please just allow me, okay? haha

Anyway, last Friday, I went out to the supermarkets to pick up our half-month supplies. Then my husband joined me so that we both could go to the hospital afterwards and process my records. It took a short while and in no time, we were already out. On the way to the car, I mentioned to my husband that I would like to try the croinuts at Bob’s Pastry Shop. He took my hand and led me across the street to Bob’s. I asked him if we were not going to get the car first, he said later. I guess he really wanted to get me the croinuts because he knows I wanted to try them and if we got to the car first, there is a chance that I might say “never mind” and not buy it. Yeah. I am like that because I would be thinking about the budget and a lot of other things so I would delay treating or even cancel myself. I am thinking, he really wanted to treat me, so off we went to Bob’s. I also felt special. teehee

We crossed the street holding hands. That’s what HHWW stands for–holding hands while walking. LOL Cheesy, right? I know. hahaha Then suddenly, I felt giggly like a silly schoolgirl. In a way, I was reminded of the first time hubby and I held hands and how good it feels to just be held. I feel so secure and loved and protected. I guess that is why God sent us husbands–these are their roles in our lives.

For the short time that Dennis and I held hands, there was an unmistakable bond — a special connection that no one else could seen…just felt by the two of us. I told him that sometimes a simple action such as that rekindles romance. It is so easy to get lost in the activities of life, like work, friends, and of course parenting. We have a new baby so naturally, we are always tired and sometimes overwhelmed. But in that moment, amidst the bustling street, it was just the two of us. It reminded us that first there was a “couple” before there came a “family.” Thank God for that special moment with my husband. πŸ˜€

  2. Awww! So cheesy! How i wish he will do that again to me. I miss those earlier times before i got pregnant. Now, he is so serious to work hard for us and no more time for bonding. πŸ™

    • Awwww in our case, I have the tendency to the be workaholic one and I would even forego having a date because of budget constraints. It is hubby who insists that we still do so for the sake of our marriage. I do hope you find time to have a date time, even if it’s just once a month πŸ˜€

  3. super kilig ako….nakakamis nong bf-gf pa kami ni hubby walang kasawa sawa sa HHWW, I feel secured and in good hands everytime he holds my hands…

  4. I love HHWW it really gives a sense of security, it’s like saying “i’ll never let you go” or “this girl’s mine” aye i’m getting cheesy na hehe…

  5. I always want it. I want to feel it that way every second, minute, hour everyday. this maybe silent communication build stronger relationship, hold on together until the end of time. happiness

  6. Wow… Ang lagkit naman…. I miss those moments na ginagawa din namin yung HHWW…ha,ha,ha…ngaun kasi bihira na mag HHWW busy na po sa work…

  7. Ang swerte mo kasi sweet hubby mo bihira na ngayon sa lalaki yan, happy for those women na stay inlove through the years

  9. Me and hubby is just like that. Whenever we have the chance to walk just the two of us without are kids. We really do HHWW. And whenever we do that specially at malls or grocery I would hear some teenage behind are back whispering “PDA!” (public display of affection!) maybe they were thinking were still teenager! ahahah! The hell we care!

  11. Cheers for that sweet man ! Hahah. Me and my Husband was 8 years long. Hope one day he hold my hands again while walking.. (HOPING!) πŸ™‚

    • Do initiate it sis. πŸ˜€ It might bring back the sweet memories of the past and it will become a habit again πŸ˜€

  12. I feel so happy for the both of you. You’re keep your marriage so tight and strong. πŸ™‚ Holding Hands While Walking is a way of showing love to a person. I find it with such respect and not just a public display of affection. During your quality time at home or outside, Holding one’s hand gives a feeling of security and you know that there’s someone to lean on through thick or thin. πŸ™‚ It’s not just for lovers or couples but to everyone who’s important to yo. Maybe a friend, you child, mother, father or your siblings. πŸ™‚

Maybe because hindi na tayo bf-gf, and busy na rin dahil nadagdagan ang responsibilities.. these simple things in life, ay nakakapagpakilig! same with you sis, I find it so killig, lalo na yung mga surprise kisses and hugs from hubby!

  14. I can relate to this too. My husband loves to hold my hands always. Even when we are sleeping, he embraces me and hold my hands as we sleep. Even at church, he holds my hand while listening to mass.

  15. Me and my husband, didn’t stop the things that we used to do nun magboyfriend pa lang kami. It took us 11 years to meet each other again (we were classmates way back in 1st year highscool) so parang nagliligawan pa din. sometimes, habang nagnnenet lng ako, biglang yayakap, tapos magsaabi ng luvu luvs. and even in our sleep, sometimes, holding hands din.

  17. Haha.. Sometimes it feels me OA when I want some sweetness moment like HHWW with my husband because we already had children but then I still want that to be perfectly done everyday just like boyfriend/girlfriend… So sweet and kiligs…

  18. It’s really nice to read “kilig” stories. πŸ™‚ Hubby & I still hold hands while walking, but not as much as before, nung wala pa kaming anak. I really miss those times when we go out tapos hawak ni hubby ang kamay ko. To make up for lost time, I make it a point to hold his hand whenever possible. I even hold his while sleeping. Love it.

  19. Hahaha!!! This was perfect during the high school/college days. Sure is cheesy enough for others to see. I wish we could do this with my wife again… but it’s hard when you have 5 little kids to hold hands too… =)

  20. That is very admirable. Little things that people usually take for granted. But has big impact on peoples relationship. Im really happy for both of you

  21. So cheesy yet very romantic…we also do HHWW but whenever we caught ourselves doing this we always have this reaction of laughing at each other and then making kwento about our past when we were still boyfriends/girlfriends. We reminisce and then end it with a good laugh and seal it with a kiss…So yes it might be cheesy or corny for others but we all can’t deny the fact that it’s very romantic and when your husbands(or boyfriends)does this, well we can’t deny that it’s nakakakilig pa din :o)))

  22. Holding your better half’s hand in public is a nice thing and its romantic. I always do that to my loving wife to let her feel that I love her so much and always here for her till the end.^^

  23. me and my hubby always hold hands anywhere we go after we already know each other more but at first i really dont want too because i have a polish BF and we have 2 kids now but everytime we go out to the mall and eat im shy to hold his hands i just had this insecurity that he looks a lot better than i am and i know a lot of people in the mall will say ano ba yan mukhang katulong hehehe but i just ignore inggit lang sila lol.. hehe but my hubby is the one who told me he dont care whatever people will say whats important is he loves me and i love him and hes not shy to hold my hands wherever we are and thats makes me more beautiful than people insulting me πŸ™‚

  25. Sweet! nakakakilig naman yan, it’s nice to remember the past na ginagawa naming mag holding hands in public kahit nahihiya-hiya pa ako noon.

  26. haha..nakakakilig talga kapag kaholding hands mo ang taong mahal mo..if we look our hands there are spaces..at yung taong nararapat sa ‘tin ang magfi-fill in sa space na yun.. ^_^

  27. HHWW is surely one thing i love most with my relationship with hubby. It just never gets old.

  28. ang sarap ng feeling kapag hinoholding hand ka ng hubby diba..lalo na kapag mag aacross the way ako..hehe, ganyan din nafe-feelko kapag hinahawakan ako ng hubby ko by hand at maglalakad

  29. Wow! that’s so sweet! Hubby & I also hold hands when we are together as if we were still in the boyfriend and girlfriend stage. the spark will always be there! ^^

  30. I love this post, giggling while reading it! πŸ™‚ My husband and I used to HHWW also after 15 years of being married, but it seems iba na ngayon kasi kapag nakikita kami ng mga kids na HHWW pinapaghiwalay kami and they used to hold our hand on either way so mga kids na kasama namin sa HHWW.

  31. Super namiss ko tuloy yun time na mag BF-GF palng kami.. πŸ™‚ we also had the HHWW moments especially kpag naglalakad kami sa mall..:-) Though now we seldom go out because we already have our baby, I wish that soon we’ll have our bonding time ulit! πŸ™‚ With that simple gesture, it will surely means a lot especially if the one who holds your hand is the one that you love. πŸ™‚

  32. soooo chessy! hehe but that is one of the things that couples forget when they tie the knot. to be still sweet, cheesy and baduy. I may not be able to relate to that now since I am separated. But I know the feeling… kilig much lang talaga.

  33. Even beyond the 6 years of marriage, you still have that kilig feeling. Nakakainggit. All of the girls fantasy including mine is to stay happily inlove with the man I said ‘Yes i do’ infront of Gods eyes. And so, I vow to your marriage sis! They say a love so strong can wipe away all the windy and stormy bumps along. Stay happily inlove <3

  34. wOW! what a romance!

  35. ANG TWEEEEET. I mean ang sweet πŸ™‚ I really appreciate men who are still sweet to their wives even if matagal na married. mayroon kasi iba, nawawala na, kasi parang nahihiya o napipilitan. pero yung iba talaga, pag mahal talaga, sweet pa din kahit matanda na πŸ™‚

  36. HHWW is so sweet.. ganto kami noong high school pa and I’m glad na until now ganto pa rin kami.. parang binata’t dalaga lang! πŸ˜‰

  37. HHWW is really romantic, right? When we go out even if we are going just to a nearby store, we always hold hands while walking. Maybe it is one of their ways of making us feel secured. πŸ™‚
