Anxious and Frustrated at 38 Weeks

Last Monday, my pregnancy is already at 37 weeks. I went to the doctor for my internal examination (IE). She said that I was already partly effaced and my external OS is already open. That was last Monday and the whole day until the dawn of Tuesday, I had really painful contractions. The problem was, they seemed to be taking very long and I can’t really figure out the pattern.

Then the day of Tuesday, the contractions stopped. They resumed Wednesday for awhile, then stopped. Then Thursday evening, then stopped. It is Saturday today, no more contractions and baby is just moving gleefully around my tummy with no signs of coming out anytime.

Last Thursday, we had the biophysical profile ultrasound of the baby and everything is normal. The OB-ultrasonologist also said that my placenta is already very ripe, like full term.

So I dunno what is taking the baby so long to come out. My expected date really is March 26. But I dunno why the early signs. And still she refuses to come out.

Anyway, yesterday, I feel anxious and frustrated and I was starting to feel depressed. We are already very excited with the coming of the baby, but it seems to be taking soooooo long. But after about an hour of mulling over my bad feelings, I made the decision to get over it and just wait. And while waiting, I decided to focus on preparing myself, like mentally, etc for the coming baby. Everything else is ready, but I prayed, asked for guidance etc. Then thankfully, I got over the bad feelings.

Today, I went to have a foot spa then I went walking up and down the stairs for my exercise. I continue to communicate with baby and she continues to respond. I guess in God’s time and when baby is ready, she will just come out.

I lift everything to God. 🙂

Pregnancy 38 Weeks

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

  1. Hang in there, dear! Before you know it, you’ll be cuddling your little bundle of joy, and you’ll have forgotten all the rest.

Keeping a good thought for your little family!
