Grocery Shopping in the New Normal at Landers Superstore

Going to the grocery was once or twice a month was a regular routine for wifey and I before the pandemic. In the new normal, things have changed drastically. With the threat of Covid-19 still looming, we would rather do our grocery shopping in the safety of our home and have things delivered. We would rather do this until there is a more sustainable solution to the pandemic in order to keep our family safe. That is why we are glad that Landers Superstore now has a delivery service to key cities nationwide.

Discovering the Landers Superstore for the First Time

I love to go window shopping but I don’t really think of myself as a “shopper” or “buyer”.  However, I do feel good accompanying wifey to a supermarket trip for our bi-monthly grocery shopping.

When we went to Cebu for a vacation pre-Covid, my cousins told us that they were bringing us to Landers Superstore. I wasn’t very excited…yet.

But I have to admit, I was curious to see the store. When we got there, my eyes (my tiny eyes) grew big…er huge!

Landers is a superstore indeed!

There were a lot of goodies that I cannot find in local stores. And then there were some that I used to enjoy with my family when were kids that were no longer available locally. Needless to say, wifey and I had a field day shopping there with a cart-load of bags on the way out.

With the pandemic, we stayed home most of the time. I was not able to go back to Cebu anymore, so I was no longer able to visit Landers again. The only time we got some goodies from Landers was when relatives from Cebu would share the goodies with us.

Going Grocery Shopping in the New Normal

Thankfully, Landers Superstore had opened delivery to many key cities nationwide – Bacolod City included.

To check out their system, I applied for a Landers Superstore membership online and went grocery shopping in our bedroom. A few days later, I got my delivery safely.

Everything was in good condition and the delivery personnel even opened the box in front of me to make sure that I got everything.

It was super enjoyable to sit in a corner in the bedroom and do my grocery shopping. I was able to pick up some of my favorite spicy snacks that were only available online.

But if there is one thing that I would like to happen, I hope that soon they will also be able to ship other items like chocolates. They have Violet Crumble and it was on sale while I was shopping, but unfortunately, they can’t ship that to Bacolod yet.

With Landers Superstore, I am no longer a remote shopper. I don’t have to keep calling the wifey anymore while in the supermarket.
