This December, Negros Power is delivering a welcome holiday surprise: lower electricity rates for customers in Bacolod City and Central Negros. The reduction comes as a result of proactive measures and efficient operations, bringing much-needed relief to households and businesses during the festive season.
Negros Power Brings Christmas Cheer with Lower Electricity Rates
Negros Power is spreading holiday cheer this Christmas season with a welcome decrease in electricity rates for consumers.
The distribution utility of Central Negros announced that December billings for residential customers would reflect a rate of P11.18 per kilowatt hour, a decrease of 82 centavos per kWh compared to last month.
This means that a household with an average monthly consumption of 200 kWh will save almost P164 on their electricity bill. The new rate will cover the billing cycle from November 16 to December 15, and consumers will receive their billings starting December 16, 2024.
“We are pleased to pass on these savings to our customers during this special time of year,” said Roel Castro, President and Chief executive Officer of Negros Power.
The rate reduction is attributed to a decrease in the traded blended generation rates from power suppliers at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), which Negros Power passes on to its consumers.
The Distribution System and Metering charge remains at P1.18/kWh, which covers Negros Power’s costs as a distribution utility.
