Negros Power rate reduction February 2026 brings welcome relief to households across its service area.
Negros Power customers will benefit from a substantial decrease in electricity rates this February. The average residential rate dropped to ₱11.44 per kWh, down by ₱1.66 per kWh from January’s ₱13.10 per kWh. As a result, consumers will see this significant reduction reflected in their February billing.
For families monitoring expenses, this matters. However, actual savings will depend on electricity usage.
How Much Can Households Save from the Rate Reduction?
Because the reduction is ₱1.66 per kWh, savings increase as consumption rises.
Here is a simple breakdown:
Low consumption household (100 kWh)
₱1.66 × 100 kWh = ₱166 savings
For homes that use minimal electricity, savings may not feel dramatic. Still, ₱166 can help cover small daily expenses.
Average consumption household (200 kWh)
₱1.66 × 200 kWh = ₱332 savings
An average household will save around ₱332 this month. This aligns closely with earlier projections of over ₱300 in savings.
Heavy consumption household (around ₱10,000 previous bill)
Let us estimate usage first.
Previous rate: ₱13.10 per kWh
₱10,000 ÷ ₱13.10 ≈ 763 kWh
Now apply the reduction:
₱1.66 × 763 kWh ≈ ₱1,266 savings
Therefore, households that previously paid around ₱10,000 may save approximately ₱1,200 to ₱1,300 this February, depending on actual consumption.

Clearly, the Negros Power rate reduction February 2026 benefits everyone. However, higher-usage households will see more noticeable peso savings.
What Drove the Negros Power Rate Reduction February 2026?
The major driver of this decrease is the sharp drop in generation costs. In particular, rates from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) fell significantly.
WESM rates dropped from ₱7.5031/kWh to ₱4.4872/kWh — a reduction of ₱3.0160/kWh. This followed the normalization and synchronization of power plants in the Visayas Grid. Consequently, supply improved and market prices went down.
In addition, the rate from Green Core Geothermal Inc. (GCGI) decreased by ₱0.3136/kWh due to the implementation of its new 2026 base rate.
Combined, these changes reduced the overall generation charge by ₱1.4199 per kWh. Therefore, the drop more than offset minor increases in transmission and other pass-through charges.
While there was a slight increase in the NGCP transmission charge and the Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification (UCME), their impact remained minimal compared to the substantial decline in generation costs.
Other February 2026 average rates are as follows:
• Low Voltage (LV): ₱11.50/kWh
• High Voltage (HV): ₱10.41/kWh
Overall, the Negros Power rate reduction February 2026 shows how improved supply conditions can directly benefit consumers.
