We bought our new LCDTV just before 2010 ended. Why? That is because that was also the last day of the LCDTV sale at the SM Supermarket.
Actually, we never did want to buy a TV. For us that is extra expense and an intrusion in our bedroom. But we had no choice because the LCD of my husband’s laptop conked out and my daughter could no longer watch videos. If she doesn’t have videos that means I could not work. And that is not a good thing. The whole day she will just hog my laptop or ask me to play with her. While I also like, I also have projects and jobs to do and if I don’t work, our family income would be greatly diminished.
So we opted to buy a 15″ Coby LCDTV at SM. We wanted a Samsung but the difference is about P2,000 for the same unit. I just thought that is too much, so we settled for the Coby. When we got home, my father in law saw our TV and said that he will pitch in so that we can buy a bigger unit. So for an additional P1,700, we now have a 19″ Coby LCDTV.
It is actually a very nice unit. This one is Made in China but I heard a lot of good reviews about it. After all, we really sought all sorts of reviews, including HDTV reviews, before we bought a unit. We thought long and hard about it.
So we are actually pretty happy with our purchase. We just attached the TV to the UPS so that it will be protected from power surges and fluctuations.
I guess it all boils down to what we can afford.
