Cebu Pacific highlighted the importance of following Cebu Pacific baggage rules through a fun recognition event for passengers who packed their hand carry items properly.
The airline held a “BOARDING PASSers Recognition Ceremony” on September 4 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. The event recognized passengers who complied with the airline’s baggage rules.
Passengers of flight 5J 971 bound for Davao took part in the celebration after their hand carry items fit in CEB’s new and improved baggage sizer.
Passengers recognized as ‘BOARDING PASSers’
As part of the event, the recognized passengers received certificates from the “Baggage Regulation Commission.” They also received their own “CEBlay,” which served as a symbol of honor and excellence for responsible travelers.
Cebie, Cebu Pacific’s mascot, also gave an inspirational talk. The message encouraged the “BOARDING PASSers” to become model travelers for other passengers.
In keeping with the Filipino graduation theme, the passengers were also welcomed with a huge congratulatory banner when they arrived in Davao.
Beyond the celebration, Cebu Pacific used the event to highlight why following baggage policies matters.
When bags meet the prescribed size and weight limits, they can be stowed properly and quickly. This can help minimize delays and allow flights to depart on time.
Properly sized and stowed hand carry items can also contribute to a safer cabin. They help keep aisles and emergency areas clear. At the same time, they allow overhead compartment space to be shared fairly among passengers.
“Following hand carry guidelines may seem small, but it makes a big difference. Through this initiative, we give our appreciation to all our passengers who took the time to follow baggage guidelines because their simple act of compliance helps make the journey smoother and more convenient for every Juan. By recognizing our ‘Boarding Passers’, we also hope to show that compliance is not just a requirement—it’s something every traveler can take pride in,” said Lei Apostol, CEB Vice President for Customer Service Operations.
Cebu Pacific hand carry limits
Cebu Pacific reminds passengers that they can bring up to two pieces of cabin items for free.
These include a hand carry item that must be placed in the overhead bin and a personal item that can fit under the seat in front.
The airline’s size limits are:
- Hand carry item: Up to H = 56 cm × L = 36 cm × W = 23 cm
- Personal item: Up to H = 20 cm × W = 20 cm × L = 35 cm
Passengers are advised to check their baggage allowance before their flight. They should also make sure their hand carry items meet the airline’s size and weight requirements.
For convenience, passengers can pre-purchase their checked baggage allowance or add additional baggage allowance through the Manage Booking portal using their MyCebuPacific accounts.
Online check-in can reduce waiting time
Cebu Pacific also offers online check-in through its mobile app and website.
This can reduce passenger waiting time at the airport. Passengers with no checked baggage can also go straight to their assigned boarding gates.
CEB currently flies to 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
