Globe supports ASEAN 2026 connectivity drive

Globe supports ASEAN 2026 as the company reaffirmed its commitment to nation-building by backing the Philippine government’s hosting of ASEAN-related events in the first quarter of 2026 through enhanced connectivity and on-ground support.

In coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and the ASEAN National Organizing Council, Globe worked to ensure reliable mobile connectivity across key venues nationwide. The support covered major locations in Metro Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo, and Boracay.

Strong coordination for ASEAN 2026 connectivity support

To ensure stable ASEAN 2026 connectivity support, Globe carried out extensive preparations before the events began. The company conducted readiness checks across dozens of venues and worked closely with government partners to assess network requirements.

Because of these preparations, Globe was able to anticipate demand and strengthen capacity ahead of time. This helped ensure that communication needs during the events were addressed without disruption, especially in high-traffic international gathering spaces.

On-ground monitoring during ASEAN events

During the actual ASEAN-related events, Globe deployed dedicated on-ground teams to monitor network performance in real time.

These teams responded quickly to any issues that arose. As a result, delegates, organizers, and participants were able to stay connected and focused on regional discussions and cooperation.

This continuous monitoring played a key role in maintaining stable connectivity throughout the duration of the events.

Improved 5G coverage in key venues

To further support ASEAN 2026 connectivity support in high-traffic venues such as hotels and function halls, Globe rolled out targeted enhancements and improved 5G coverage in select locations.

These upgrades resulted in stronger mobile signals and faster data speeds. Consequently, attendees experienced more consistent connectivity, supporting seamless communication and digital participation throughout the events.

Government recognition and continued partnership

The Department of Information and Communications Technology acknowledged Globe’s proactive contribution to strengthening connectivity support for ASEAN events.

“Globe stands with the government in enabling meaningful participation and collaboration during ASEAN engagements. By ensuring reliable connectivity, we aim to support the country’s role in fostering stronger regional partnerships,” said Joel Agustin, Senior Vice President for Service Planning and Engineering at Globe.

Through early preparation, collaboration, and sustained on-ground efforts, Globe supports ASEAN 2026 by helping ensure successful event execution in the Philippines.

The company continues to work with government and industry partners to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and support national development initiatives.

At the same time, Globe reinforces the Philippines’ position in the regional and global community through improved connectivity and digital readiness.
