Having a Temporary Babysitter

We asked the former babysitter of my sister-in-law to join us for a short time, like three weeks to a month, because I am going away at the end of the month for a trip with my brother.

But in order to do so, she has to join us earlier so that she can be accustomed to our way of doing things and Dindin’s routine. She joined us yesterday afternoon, the day before Dindin was to start school. Yes, today was Dindin’s first day of summer class.

So basically, Angeline has been with us for technically more than a day. But as early as now, I can already feel the benefits of hiring  a babysitter that you can trust. I have been unloaded of a lot of petty things, like letting Dindin pee or feeding her. Sure I am just around whenever she calls for me because I work at home, but at least, I don’t have to get up all the time she needs assistance because Angel is already here.

And tomorrow, they will start going to school without me. Angeline has already been proven trustworthy with my sister-in-law and she is pretty good with kids. She is very neat, clean, and tidy and she is also artistic, so she and Dindin have a good time playing. They sometimes even pretend to play a Clayton and sing in a rock band.

To keep me at ease, of course, I pray for them both with all kinds of prayer and petitions.

I would have wanted a babysitter before but the budget just doesn’t allow it. And well, when Dindin was a baby, I really wanted to take care of her myself. Now that the workload is increasing and Dindin is growing up, I thought it would be good to have some help in the house. I thank God that we have some extra money already to pay for her salary. It’s good for my sanity and also my marriage because I am less cranky.
