Megaworld Hotels & Resorts is entering a new chapter in Philippine hospitality. In a bold move, the company is teaming up with global hotel group Accor. The Megaworld Accor partnership blends local expertise with international hospitality standards.
A Bold Megaworld Accor Partnership for the Future of Hospitality
Megaworld, the country’s largest homegrown hotel developer, is now collaborating with Accor Hotels. Accor is known for international brands like Sofitel, Raffles, Fairmont, Swissôtel, and Mercure. This partnership will enhance selected Megaworld hotels through Accor’s systems, services, and global loyalty network.
The first transformation under this deal is in Cebu. Belmont Hotel Mactan will be rebranded as Mercure Mactan Cebu. It is located in the 30-hectare Mactan Newtown township in Lapu-Lapu City.
Mercure Mactan Cebu: The First Fruit of the Alliance
With over 40 brands under its wing, Accor’s Mercure brand is globally respected for offering authentic, locally inspired experiences with consistent quality. The upcoming Mercure Mactan Cebu promises a unique fusion of Cebuano hospitality and Accor’s international flair—perfect for both leisure and business travelers.
“With Mercure Mactan Cebu, we aim to redefine Cebu’s tourism landscape by combining our group’s local expertise with Accor’s global leadership,” said Cleofe Albiso, Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.
Why Cebu Is Ideal for Hotel Developments
Cebu is quickly solidifying its place as a top-tier destination—not just for leisure, but for business travelers as well. With Mactan-Cebu International Airport serving as a key entry point into the Visayas, and a growing number of MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) events happening across the region, the demand for world-class accommodation is surging.
“The Philippines remains a vital market for us,” noted Andrew Langdon, Chief Development Officer for Accor Asia. “The signing of Mercure Mactan Cebu is fully aligned with our ambition to meet the growing demand for hotels that serve both leisure and business travellers, driven by the continued rise of bleisure travel.”
Accor Loyalty Program Adds Global Value to Local Stays
One of the biggest perks for guests is the integration into Accor’s ALL (Accor Live Limitless) loyalty program. This means hotel guests will be able to earn rewards points, enjoy exclusive benefits, and be part of a worldwide community of frequent travelers—all while staying at a hotel in Cebu.
Strengthening Megaworld Hotels & Resorts Across the Philippines
Megaworld Hotels & Resorts currently operates 13 hotel properties across Metro Manila, Boracay, Tagaytay, Cebu, and Iloilo, totaling around 7,000 rooms. These include:
- Richmonde Hotels (Ortigas, Eastwood, Iloilo)
- Belmont Hotels (Manila, Boracay, Mactan)

The hospitality arm plans to open 7 more hotels in the next three years, including new developments in Palawan, Pampanga, Bacolod, and Iloilo, pushing their total to 20 hotels with over 9,000 rooms by 2028.
Notably, Megaworld recently made headlines by opening the 1,530-room Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque—the biggest hotel in the country in terms of room count.
How the Megaworld Accor Partnership Boosts Tourism and Jobs
The Megaworld–Accor partnership is more than just about hotels. It’s a strategic move that supports local job creation, sustainable tourism, and community development. As more global tourists choose the Philippines, collaborations like this ensure we’re ready—not just to accommodate, but to impress.
The launch of Mercure Mactan Cebu marks a milestone in Megaworld’s journey and reaffirms Cebu’s growing importance in both domestic and international tourism. With Accor’s global standards and Megaworld’s local vision, the future of Philippine hospitality looks brighter than ever.
