Negros Occidental donates 2 million to Sarangani communities affected by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck in June 2026.
The Province of Negros Occidental has extended ₱2 million in assistance to communities in Sarangani affected by the earthquake.
Representatives from Sarangani Province visited Negros Occidental for discussions on assistance for the affected communities. Acting Governor and Vice Governor Joeben Alonso welcomed and accommodated the visiting representatives.
The visit also gave both provinces an opportunity to exchange important information. In addition, it helped strengthen coordination on assistance for communities affected by the disaster.
Negros Occidental coordinates assistance
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said the province had been reaching out to Sarangani.
He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to welcome its representatives. The discussions provided a chance to explore ways to extend assistance to affected communities.
Meanwhile, Acting Governor and Vice Governor Joeben Alonso emphasized the importance of supporting communities facing difficult circumstances after the earthquake.
“We are happy to welcome our friends from Sarangani. This assistance is our way of showing that Negros Occidental stands with them as they recover from the earthquake. We may be from different provinces, but in times of need, we can come together and extend whatever help we can,” Alonso said.
