Negros Power Brigada Eskwela 2026 reinforced the company’s commitment to education, community development, and public safety. The initiative reached 23 public schools across Bacolod City, Bago City, Murcia, Silay City, and Talisay City. Activities were held from June 1 to 5, 2026.
As part of the annual nationwide school maintenance program, Negros Power employees joined teachers, parents, school personnel, and community volunteers. Together, they prepared classrooms and school facilities for the opening of classes. The initiative aimed to create a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment. It also supported thousands of students returning to school this academic year.
Strengthening Safety Beyond School Preparations
Going beyond traditional Brigada Eskwela activities, Negros Power partnered with the Association of Barangay Electricians and Linemen (ABEL). The partnership provided free electrical inspections in every school visited.
The inspections focused on wiring systems and electrical connections. Teams also checked switches, outlets, and other electrical facilities. The goal was to ensure that these systems were safe and ready for use.
According to Unice Castillon, Community Relations Assistant Manager of Negros Power, the company recognizes the importance of electrical safety in schools.
“The safety of our learners and educators is one of our priorities. Through our partnership with the Association of Barangay Electricians and Linemen (ABEL), we conducted free electrical inspections in every school we visited to ensure that their wiring systems, electrical connections, and facilities are safe and ready for the opening of classes. By identifying potential electrical hazards early, we help create a safer learning environment for students, teachers, and school personnel,” Castillon said.
Throughout the week-long Negros Power Brigada Eskwela 2026 activity, the company visited schools across its franchise area. These included Ramon Torres National High School in Bago City and Murcia Elementary School. The company also visited Eustaquio Lopez Elementary School in Silay City. Other schools included Singcang National High School, Handumanan National High School, and Domingo Lacson National High School. Several other elementary and secondary schools were also part of the program.

The company emphasized that supporting Brigada Eskwela is part of its broader commitment to empowering communities. It also contributes to the development of future generations through safe and reliable public services.
