Negros Power held its inaugural Lineman’s Day on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to linemen—the unsung heroes of the power industry.

Honoring Linemen Through Celebration

The celebration featured a Dance Competition, showcasing the talent and energy of linemen groups. Attendees also enjoyed an exciting raffle draw with numerous prizes up for grabs.

Linemen from different teams gave their all during the festivities, pouring their hearts into the competition and activities. Whether perfecting their dance routines or cheering on teammates, they gave their best, determined to win prizes and make the most of this rare opportunity to unwind. The electrifying dance performances captivated the crowd, showcasing the linemen’s creativity and teamwork.

Negros Power President Roel Castro personally attended the event, showing his support and appreciation for the linemen. During the program, he expressed gratitude to the linemen, highlighting their dedication and hard work:

“This is our way of recognizing the dedication and hard work of our linemen, and this will be an annual celebration for them.”

The event also featured a raffle draw where participants eagerly anticipated the chance to win. Winners walked away with practical and exciting prizes, adding to the day’s joy and camaraderie.

Tribute to Jessie Torremocha

The event also paid tribute to the late lineman Jessie James Torremocha, who tragically lost his life while on duty. Torremocha was a committed and courageous lineman who served as a role model for his peers. His contributions to ensuring reliable electricity, even under dangerous conditions, were honored during the celebration.
