Negros Power ERC recognition highlights the utility’s leadership in advancing renewable energy and encouraging consumer participation in the country’s clean energy transition.
BACOLOD CITY — Negros Power has earned national recognition from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for its outstanding contribution to advancing renewable energy. The utility was also recognized for promoting consumer participation in the country’s clean energy transition.
During a ceremony at the ERC Main Office on June 26, 2026, the distribution utility received a plaque of recognition. The award cited its exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to implementing the Net-Metering Program.
ERC Chairperson Atty. Francis Saturnino Juan presented the award to Negros Power President and Chief Executive Officer Roel Castro. Energy Secretary Sharon Garin also joined the recognition rites during the commission’s 25th Anniversary celebration.
The ERC recognized Negros Power for empowering the highest number of Qualified End-Users (QEs) across the Visayas since the Net-Metering Program began in 2014.
Through its sustained efforts, the utility has enabled thousands of consumers to generate their own electricity using renewable energy. As a result, more consumers have become active participants in the country’s evolving energy landscape.
Recognition Highlights Net-Metering Leadership
The Negros Power ERC recognition underscores the company’s role in democratizing energy access. It also recognizes its efforts to modernize the power sector and accelerate renewable energy adoption.
According to the ERC, the company’s initiatives have established a benchmark for innovation and sustainability within the Philippine electric power industry.

As of June 19, 2026, Negros Power reported a total installed net-metering rated capacity of 23,797 kilowatts (kW) across 1,471 qualified end-users within its franchise area.
These figures reflect the growing adoption of renewable energy technologies among households, businesses, and institutions served by the utility.
