Fiesta celebration in Hda. Imbang Mesa

Residents of Hda. Imbang Mesa gathered for a joyful fiesta that carried deeper meaning this year. Beyond tradition, the event reflected a year of steady cooperation among families in the community.

The celebration was made more memorable because it followed a full year of uninterrupted service. As a result, the fiesta became both festive and symbolic of community effort.

A year without disconnections

The sitio is part of Negros Power’s Sitio Electrification Program. Through this initiative, the area was energized to give families reliable access to electricity.

Last year, the community was given a simple challenge: maintain good standing and avoid disconnections for one year. In return, Negros Power promised a special reward during their fiesta celebration.

Over the past year, residents worked together to meet this goal. Because of that effort, the community successfully completed the challenge without a single disconnection among 120 households.

Community reward and its purpose

True to its promise, Negros Power provided a cash prize to the community during this year’s celebration. The reward helped fund fiesta activities and added more color to the gathering.

The support was not just about the prize itself. It also served as recognition of the community’s discipline and cooperation throughout the year.

Negros Power on cooperation and responsibility

According to Engr. Leomel H. Tambanillo, AVP for Planning, Business Operations and Sitio Electrification Program, the achievement shows what communities can accomplish through unity.

“We are very happy to see that the residents of Hda. Imbang Mesa valued this opportunity and worked together for one whole year without disconnections. This only proves that when the community cooperates, everyone benefits,” he said.

He added that Negros Power continues to support communities beyond electrification projects. It also encourages responsible electricity use and stronger partnerships with consumers.

“This is more than just a cash prize. It symbolizes our appreciation to the people of Imbang Mesa for their commitment and trust in Negros Power. We hope this inspires other communities as well,” he added.

Community gratitude and reflection

Resident Joshua Arsenal shared his appreciation for the company’s support.

“Dako guid ang amon pagpasalamat sa Negros Power kay gin tuman nila ang ila saad sa amon komunidad. Dako guid ini nga bulig sa amon fiesta kag isa man ini ka simbolo sang maayo nga pagbinuligay sang kada pamilya diri sa Imbang Mesa,” Arsenal said.

The electrification project covered around 120 households. It included 32 poles, nearly 3 kilometers of wires, and two distribution transformers.

In the end, the fiesta became more than a celebration. It also reflected a year of cooperation, trust, and reliable electricity service in the community.
