Engr. Oscar Duca, Area Office Assistant Manager of Negros Power, explained the importance of this early maintenance work.
“This intensive maintenance work is crucial in preventing unexpected power interruptions, especially during significant events like the elections. We are committed to delivering seamless service and taking proactive steps to strengthen the network’s reliability,” Duca said.
These activities were carried out in line with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between Negros Power and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on April 7, 2025. The agreement outlines the company’s pledge to conduct preventive maintenance to support a stable power supply before, during, and after the election period.
No Scheduled Interruptions Starting April 28
To further prepare for election day, Negros Power announced that beginning April 28, 2025, there will be no scheduled power interruptions across its coverage areas.
This aims to reduce risks of disruption during the final stretch leading to the elections and to help communities focus on the important task of voting.

“It’s reassuring to see Negros Power following through on their promises. Instead of worrying about brownouts, we can actually see them putting in the work to improve the service,” shared John Rey Canillada of Barangay 35.
