How Negros Power Restores Power After Typhoon Tino
When strong winds hit, power restoration follows a clear Restoration Prioritization Matrix to bring lights back safely and efficiently:
- Subtransmission Lines
- Substations
- Feeder Backbone Restoration
- Hospitals and Medical Facilities
- Emergency Services (fire stations, police stations, BJMP, and local government offices)
- Whole Blocks with No Light
- Single Houses with No Light
- Non-Power Related Concerns
This method ensures that essential facilities like hospitals and emergency responders get power first before the rest of the grid is restored.

Safety and Coordination Come First
COO and CTO Engr. Bernard Bailey Del Castillo shared that the company’s goal is to balance safety and fast response.
“We’ve positioned our crews, trucks, and materials across key sites so we can move the moment conditions allow,” he said.
