INTRODUCING THE PAL CEBU-LAX FLIGHT!
With the culmination of the smashing hit TV series On the Wings of Love (OTWOL) starring the dynamic love team and real life sweethearts James Reid and Nadine Lustre, more popularly know as JaDine, I am sure that many of our kababayans in the United States are longing to come back home. The show has stirred so many hearts, especially because it is aired in other countries via the TFC.
Thankfully, coming home would not be such a problem anymore because of this good news from our country’s flag carrier.
Philippine Airlines continues to listen to what the public needs and improves on their service. So Filipino travelers from the Visayas and Mindanao will surely be happy with this news. Starting March 15, 2016, PAL will launch its maiden flight from Mactan, Cebu straight to Los Angeles, California, USA.
The launch of this new international route to the United States coded PR122 will coincide with PAL’s 75th founding anniversary. This latest addition to their operations is part of the flag carrier’s ongoing route expansion to the US in response to the growing market demand. PAL official Mr. Harry Inoferio, SAVP for Sales, during his visit to Bacolod City announced that an Airbus 340 will be flying directly fromCebu to Los Angeles, USA, and vice versa three times a week.
The launch of this new international route coded PR122 will coincide with PAL’s 75th founding anniversary. This latest addition to their operations is part of the flag carrier’s ongoing route expansion to the United States in response to the market demand.
Mr. Inoferio said that this first non-stop flight from Cebu-LAX-VV is going to be historical and will prove to be very convenient for passengers and those family members in the US who are going to pick up their loved ones at the airport. The Cebu-LAX flights are scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The flight leaves at 8:40am and arrives in LA at 6pm, so it’s like spending the daytime for travel. This means that family and friends in the US don’t have to take a leave of absence from work for this errand just for picking up passengers because they can do so after working hours.
PAL officials during the Bacolod roadshow also mentioned that Cebu has a much nicer airport with their modern amenities as well as a better reputation. That is because the recent reports of scams at the Manila airports victimizing balikbayans has greatly affected the reputation of the NAIA. That is why more and more people are being drawn to go through Cebu because of their good reputation.
Moreover, travelers will appreciate having more mileage on their accounts because Cebu is farther than Manila. But the good thing is, the cost is pretty much the same.
With the new route, PAL hopes to see businesses in Cebu as well as in neighboring provinces and islands improve.

Travelers will be happy to know that from its launching on March 15 until the end of March, connecting domestic flights for the Cebu-LAX sector will be offered for free for those passengers coming from six Visayan destinations, namely Bacolod, CDO, Butuan, Davao, Iloilo, and Tacloban.
PAL has 11 weekly flights between Manila and Los Angeles, 10 weekly flights between Manila and San Franciso, and four weekly flights between Manila and New York. So it is so much easier to go to and from the United States and the Philippines. Families can now be easily reunited with the convenient flights and easy on the budget fares.
