South Korea Trip Bolsters Philippines’ Primelectric Expansion Plans

Philippines Primelectric Explores South Korea Manufacturing Hub - CEO Roel Castro -meeting

Primelectric bolsters its expansion plans by visiting the electric supply manufacturing plant. Top executives recently visited South Korea’s Taeyoung Electric Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer, to secure equipment and ensure the supply chain supports ongoing infrastructure development across the Philippines.

Primeelectric Expansion Plans Bolstered by Korea Visit

President and CEO Roel Castro led the delegation through Taeyoung’s facilities, which have supplied major industrial projects since 1969. The visit highlights Primelectric’s proactive strategy to reinforce its expansion and modernization efforts nationwide.

“Seeing the precision and scale of operation firsthand is invaluable,” Castro said. “This isn’t just a supplier visit; it’s an alignment of vision for reliability and technological excellence that our growing customer base in the Philippines requires.”

How the Korea Partnership Strengthens Primelectric Expansion Plans

The collaboration is already operational. Transformers and switchgear used by MORE Power in Iloilo, Negros Power, and Bohol Light carry the Taeyoung insignia. These components are essential to improving distribution efficiency and grid resilience.

Primelectric’s technical managers observed every step of the manufacturing process—from raw material inspections to assembly and rigorous final testing.

“Taeyoung’s expertise is not just in manufacturing, but in engineering for durability and efficiency,” said Engr. Christopher Serojano of MORE Power. “For utilities facing growing demand and tough conditions, this partnership is a direct investment in grid reliability.”

Future-Proofing the Grid Through Strategic Alliances

The timing of the visit was pivotal. Taeyoung Electric is building a new manufacturing plant in Ansan, South Korea, opening in April 2026. This expansion ensures Primelectric will have a steady supply of equipment for future projects.

Though classified as a tier-2 specialist in Korea, Taeyoung is trusted by KEPCO, POSCO, and Samsung C&T. This credibility strengthens Primelectric’s supply chain and long-term infrastructure development.

For Primelectric, expansion is more than new equipment—it is gaining engineering knowledge, securing supply chains, and reinforcing modernized, reliable power networks across the Philippines.
