Yesterday, June 15, the whole world celebrated Father’s Day for the year 2014. And we did, too. Saturday night, we spent time at my parents’ house for an advanced celebration because Sunday would be the time to spent with my in-laws (where we live).
We went to our home in the suburbs and just brought food. And I took a photo of the girls with my father whom we all fondly call “Tatay”. I am the eldest and the only girl in the family. My younger brother still has no plans of getting married, so my two girls are my parents’ only grandchildren. I remember when I was turning 30 that my Tatay mentioned that he wished he had grand kids before he was too old and would need a cane to walk. He said that he wanted to be able to carry them and play with them. Thank God, He honored my Tatay’s wish. 😀
On the actual Father’s day, we spent it at home. I made tuna spaghetti for lunch and the cook made roast chicken and some grilled fish. That was a filling lunch! For dinner, my brother-in-law treated us to dinner to the family’s favorite steakhouse.
Since I had to cook, my husband took care of the kids most of the morning. And the two girls had fun being with their Papa until the little one slept in her father’s arms. What a sweet sight! 😀
Hubby with the kids during Father’s Day morning. I took photos of them whenever I passed by them. hahaWe are just so blessed to have these three fathers in our lives. They are true blessings. Loving, loyal, faithful, and God-fearing–they are are the true pillars of their homes. They take their roles as fathers seriously and they have never forsaken that role. Thank you Lord, for you have assigned these earthly fathers over us.
And we celebrate, not only today, but daily because being a father is an everyday affair. 😀
