Taguig City, April 24, 2026 – The Department of Energy (DOE) awarded plaques of appreciation to Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) and MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power). The recognition highlights their timely and full compliance with critical reportorial requirements.
DOE Honors Negros Power and MORE Power for Compliance
The recognition highlights adherence to DOE Department Circular No. DC2023-03-0005. This circular provides supplemental policies for the systematic management of reportorial requirements in the electric power industry.
Moreover, it ensures accurate data flow among distribution utilities for the year 2025.
Plaques signed by Undersecretary Rowena Cristina L. Guevarra, Ph.D. were presented at the Energy Center in Bonifacio Global City.

The recognition underscores the vital role of compliance amid rising power demand. Industrial growth, renewable energy integration, and climate risks continue to shape the sector.
As a result, accurate reporting supports better grid monitoring and strengthens outage prevention efforts. It also helps inform policy reforms across the industry.
Negros Power operates in Central Negros as the sole electric power distributor. Meanwhile, MORE Power, which serves Iloilo City and nearby areas and shares the same leadership as Negros Power, also received recognition for its compliance.
Together, their efforts support a more data-driven Visayas grid. This is especially relevant in the post-El Niño period and during ongoing electrification initiatives.
Supporting Grid Modernization and Electrification
“Full compliance equips DOE with important insights that may contribute to accelerating projects like grid modernization and renewables rollout,” said Roel Z. Castro, President and CEO of both MORE Power and Negros Power.
In addition, he emphasized the operational benefits of timely reporting.
“Timely reporting helps streamline DOE approvals, cuts delays, and aids in advancing national electrification targets,” he added.
The Philippines aims to achieve full household electrification by 2028 under the DOE’s program. Because of this, consistent compliance sets a strong standard for reliability and accountability in the power sector.
