Good news for Negros Power consumers!
Electricity rates are going down this March 2025, bringing much-needed relief to households. Residential customers will now pay an average of Php 11.4766 per kilowatt-hour (kWh)—a significant drop of Php 0.6711 compared to last month.

Why Are Rates Lower This Month?
Several factors contributed to this decrease, including reductions in generation costs and transmission charges.
Lower Generation Costs
✔ Green Core Geothermal Inc. (GCGI) is offering a Temporary Baseload Discount of Php 0.15 per kWh throughout 2025.
✔ Palm Concepcion Power Corp. Emergency Power Supply Agreement (PCPC EPSA) rate has dropped from Php 6.1635 to Php 6.1368 per kWh, a reduction of Php 0.0267 per kWh.
✔ Prices in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) have fallen significantly, leading to a Php 0.5142 per kWh reduction.
Lower Transmission Charges
✔ Transmission charges have decreased due to lower ancillary service costs, saving consumers Php 273.8091 per kW.
FIT-ALL Rate Adjustment
The Feed-In Tariff Allowance (FIT-ALL) rate has increased from Php 0.0838 to Php 0.1189 per kWh (up by Php 0.0351 per kWh) as per ERC Resolution No. 2023-096 RC dated February 19, 2025.
Sample Computation: How Much Can You Save?
Let’s say a household consumes 200 kWh per month.
- Previous Rate: Php 12.1477 per kWh
- New Rate: Php 11.4766 per kWh
- Difference: Php 0.6711 per kWh
Savings Calculation:
Php 0.6711 × 200 kWh = Php 134.22 savings
If your household uses 300 kWh, you’ll save:
Php 0.6711 × 300 kWh = Php 201.33 savings
For 500 kWh, you’ll save:
Php 0.6711 × 500 kWh = Php 335.55 savings
What This Means for Consumers
Lower electricity rates mean more savings for households and businesses. This reduction helps ease the financial burden of monthly bills, giving consumers more disposable income.
