Interactive Diorama and Educational Tools

The interactive diorama became a focal point for visitors. This innovative model illustrated the flow of power from renewable sources like solar, wind, and hydro, as well as conventional sources. By interacting with the diorama, visitors could see how each energy source contributes to the overall power grid. Additionally, the booth included video presentations that educated the public. The visitors got to learn the causes of power outages and the importance of transitioning to renewable energy.

Gifts and Merchandise

Negros Power didn’t stop at just providing information. They engaged the public with a variety of giveaways and merchandise. Attendees were thrilled to receive #PromiseMugs, symbolizing the company’s commitment to a sustainable future. Alongside the mugs, Negros Power also gave away merchandise, such as pens, keychains, and notebooks. These items served as both souvenirs and reminders of the importance of renewable energy.

Fun with Nong Moroy

Adding a touch of fun to the educational experience was Nong Moroy, the beloved mascot of Negros Power who made his first public appearance. It was through Nong Moroy’s standee that attendees had a chance to Negros Power merchandise by spinning a digital wheel. This interactive element ensured that the experience was enjoyable for visitors of all ages. These made the learning process about renewable energy both engaging and memorable.

SecuRE Negros: A Commitment to Sustainability

The Renewable Energy Week was part of a larger initiative known as SecuRE Negros. This provincial government-led campaign aims to secure the energy future of Negros Occidental through the promotion and adoption of renewable energy sources. SecuRE Negros is committed to creating a reliable, accessible, affordable, and sustainable energy system. Commitment to Renewable Energy

The emphasis on renewable energy aligns with commitments made under the joint venture agreement (JVA) between CENECO and Primelectric Holdings Inc. Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez pointed out that his support for the JVA hinged on their commitment to provide a stable power supply at low prices and to transition to renewable energy. Mayor Albee expressed optimism when the JVA was approved by the consumers, stating, “They have given a plan on how to achieve that, which will be closely watched. This will be exciting times ahead.” This commitment underscores the broader goal of transforming the region into a model of sustainable energy use.

Activities and Events

The Renewable Energy Week featured a range of activities designed to inform and inspire. From technology exhibits and educational seminars to awareness campaigns and multi-stakeholder forums, the event provided numerous opportunities for learning and engagement. These activities aimed to build capacity, raise awareness, and promote dialogue on energy issues and policies.
