No Wonder the Ford Territory is Selling like Hotcakes

Find out why the Ford Territory is fast becoming a crowd favorite as a family car or even just for personal use. It is selling like hotcakes! At least the premium kind of hotcakes. This is my Ford Territory review.

~ Hello there, Ford Territory! ~

Meeting the Ford Territory

Perhaps, you have seen the many reviews of those who have taken it for a spin. Yet are you, like me, one of those who are yet to actually meet the Ford Territory?

After watching its launch, I have been really wishing to meet this new vehicle face to face and take it out for a spin.

Well, I did get the first part of my wish. With all safety protocols in place, I got to visit the Ford Negros showroom a few weeks ago. Mrs Trecia, Branch Manager of Ford Negros, and Ryan, a sales consultant, set up my meeting with Ford’s new crossover SUV.

Since this modern vehicle has been raking lots of positive reviews, I am itching to see if it is not just all hype.

Who is it for?

This new addition to Ford’s SUV family is ideal for a family of four like us that likes to go on a road trip.

We don’t just like the idea of going places. Since we are a homeschooling family, we believe that travel is one of the most effective ways to educate our two girls about the world.

And because the Ford Territory is perfectly built for long drives because of its comfort and safety features, I am getting more and more convinced to own one.

You had me at, “hello”.

This is one of my favorite lines in Tom Cruise’s movie, Jerry Maguire. Some of the lines went like these:

  • Jerry Maguire: [babbling and struggling] I love you. You… you complete me. And I just…
  • Dorothy (Renee Zellweger): Shut up.
  • *Pause…
  • Dorothy: Just shut up.
  • *Pause…
  • Dorothy: You had me at “hello”. You had me at “hello”.

Okay, shoot me. I am a hopeless romantic at times.

Anyway, like Dorothy who fell in love at “hello”, these are the features of the Ford Territory that had me at… or babbling like Jerry Maguire.

You had me with the Moonroof!

Or the Sunroof.

The Territory moonroof is panoramic — meaning the opening is up to the second row seats. It is like the whole top of the car can be opened so that passengers can enjoy the sky view or some fresh air while driving through the countryside.

I have already been thinking about road trips with the moonroof opened all the way and I know that my girls would enjoy the scenic sky view above us.

Romantic date nights won’t be the same when wifey and I would park at a favorite mountain resort gazing at the starry sky.

If convertibles are not appealing for the Philippine climate and very dusty roads, the Territory’s moonroof is the next best thing. With this feature, I can drive around like the top is down and still feel alright because the blasting air-condition can still give coolness inside.

The Ford Territory also has Heated / Cooled Seats. Whatever the conditions outside is, you can be comfortable in this vehicle because you can adjust the temperature of the front seats. They can keep you warm or cool in order to make sure you are in your most relaxed condition for travel.

You had me with the Co-Pilot 360™

The Territory comes with Ford Co-Pilot 360™. Cameras are installed at the front, rear, and under both mirrors, allowing a virtual 360 view of your surroundings.

Of course, the Ford Co-Pilot360 technology is only supplemental and should not replace the driver’s attention, judgment, and need to control the vehicle.

~ The Ford Co-Pilot360 technology greatly helps drivers maneuver the vehicle. ~

It is pretty high tech. You can say goodbye to blind spots with the high-definition screen view. It can actually display a simulated aerial view of the vehicle’s surroundings. While Ryan was maneuvering the vehicle out of the showroom for me, I was looking at the screen and it was like watching someone play a car simulation video game.

But it is not just installed to impress. It is actually a very helpful assistant in parking and also serves as an obstacle detector.

You had me with the Autonomous Emergency Braking

The Territory can also scan the road ahead. This is supposed to alert the driver to a potential collision with a vehicle. And if by some unexpected reason that the driver doesn’t react, the system brakes kick in, which is literally a life-saving feature.

You had me at the Price Tag

Jessie J sang that it is not about the price tag.

But with the Ford Territory, one of its main selling points is actually the price tag.

This high-tech vehicle has only two variants. While both have impressive features, many go for the Titanium variant all because this top of the line model is only P1,299,000. It is only P120,000 more than the Trend variant and you already get all the bells and whistles that the Ford Territory is supposed to have.

Honestly, I can very well suggest that Ford can price it higher, but we are just thankful that the company has chosen to give it to us at a more affordable rate.

I have driven two Ford Ranger variants so far and wrote three reviews.

I was getting more and more convinced that Ford definitely knows how to build the perfect vehicle. Now, a closer look at the Territory affirms just that.

Trivia: Do you know that the Ford Motor Company is the manufacturer of one of the first cars accessible to the masses. This was the 1908 Model T. That should hint why Ford is good at making award-winning vehicles.

    1. I forgot to mention that according to the brochure, it can actually park the car for you. All you have to control is the brake and the gear (forward or reverse) while it does the maneuvering. But I have not tried it though.
