Ford Everest Sport: A Force to Reckon With

Not even the Covid-19 pandemic can stop the launch of the new Ford Everest Sport in the Philippines. As quarantine restrictions are gradually being loosened, I personally want to spend the weekend with my family in the countryside for fresh air and open spaces. If you are looking forward to the same after a week of getting back to work, then Ford must have you in mind in launching the New Ford Everest Sport.

The Covid-19 Pandemic

Two months of home quarantine due to Covid-19 is no joke. Aside from the fact that our movements are curtailed, there is also the mental and emotional toll about the whole pandemic. We fear for our family’s health and safety as well as worry about the present and future finances.

We all need a change of scenery to cope with anxiety and distress. Unfortunately, not everybody is afforded the luxury since many of us had to roll up sleeves and get back to work in order to recoup the spending for the last couple of months.

It is no wonder that on weekends, people just want to break free. We need the weekend break as time to rest, unwind, and screw our sanity back on.

As such, Ford leads the way in launching a vehicle that can make that road trip exceptional and memorable. It’s the new Ford Everest Sport.

Note: The launch was done digitally, via a Zoom meeting. It was conducted by executives of Ford Philippines, headed by PK Umashankar, President and Managing Director, other Ford Executives, and was attended by Vis-Min bloggers, influencers, and media.

The #PamilyaLagawan Got Grounded

Lagawan is an Ilonggo term that loosely translates to wanderer. In Cebuano, the term is “laagan.” My family loves to travel and wander around. It’s part of our homeschooling curriculum—to learn while traveling. Last year we have been to different islands around the Philippines, bringing along our two young daughters.

When the pandemic happened, suddenly the #PamilyaLagawan was grounded. While the kids graciously took the news about our Holy Week Boracay trip being canceled, we know that they are feeling the effect of staying at home.

How we long to go on a family road trip in this spacious car! Just check the seating capacity.

Our eldest, Shawna, has not left the house for 90 days now, as of this writing. Shane, our second daughter, was able to leave the house after 60 days, just to for a joy ride to deliver something to my in-laws’ house. But she never stepped out of the car.

Based on most cases, Covid-19 transmission mostly occurs when in close contact with virus carriers. Some studies have shown that enclosed spaces are where one will most likely get infected. So to stay on the safe side, the kids continue to be grounded until we can see some hope in solving the current pandemic.

Breaking Free From Lockdown with the Ford Everest Sport

After all that has happened these past months, I really want to bring my family on a scenic road trip. It would be reminiscent of our Tri-City Negros Island Family Road Trip in November last year. That way, we get the best of both worlds—a breath of fresh air and a change of scenery while staying away from crowds. Despite the lifting of the quarantine orders, social distancing is still required.

On our next adventure, I am excited to drive the new Ford Everest Sport. I would like to especially highlight its 10-speed Automatic Transmission with SelectShift™. The SelectShift™ is trademarked for Ford’s newer vehicles in order to help deliver better acceleration, fuel efficiency, and smoothness across on-road and off-road environments.

Many of the features of this new vehicle have the driver in mind, which I appreciate very much. Not only do these features provide for security in driving, these makes the driving dad feels at peace that his family is safe in his hands.

The new Ford Everest Sport is the latest addition to Ford’s growing SUV line-up. It supports the Everest’s position as one of the safest and most capable SUVs in the segment.

Highlights of Ford Everest Sport

Meanwhile, here are some of the feature highlights of the new Ford Everest Sport.

“The new Everest Sport truly reinforces the Everest Sport’s reputation as the most versatile and capable SUV. (It’s) safest in its class, again, redefining the SUV segment (of) what a family SUV ought to be.” This was shared by PK Umashankar, President and Managing Director, Ford Philippines.

It is powered by a 2.0L Turbo Diesel Engine with a 10-speed Automatic Transmission with SelectShift™, delivering 180PS of power and 420Nm of torque.

This new vehicle features a bold look and design, refined interiors, and driver-assist smart and safe features. Thus, it’s the perfect SUV for the family.

The Enhanced Ford Everest Titanium series now comes with new feature upgrades with no price increase.

Moreover, the new Everest Sport comes in Absolute Black, Aluminum Metallic, Arctic White, and Deep Crystal Blue. This is a new color variant that is exclusive to the new Everest Sport.

It is no wonder why I am itching to get my hands on the wheel of this impressive new vehicle! This sounds so awesome to test drive!

Once a Year Service Maintenance

The new Ford vehicles are not only built with more powerful engines but also designed for annual service maintenance. These new engine upgrades will decrease a customer’s human interaction with the Ford shop personnel to only once per year. This is opposed to the twice a year service maintenance that old vehicles require. What a timely development in the vehicle industry, especially the Covid-19 situation.

Thank you, Ford, for this timely innovation!

The new Everest Sport is perfect for our #PamilyaLagawan. Although I don’t aim to travel in style, I just primarily want to keep my family safe. But this car is a winner in both aspects. You have gotta check this out.
